Get your sear on!

Want a delicious steak, half of the flavor comes from the right sear during cooking. Follow the below steps to achieve greatness.

  • Have your steak come to room temp for even cooking.
  • Pat dry, you want little moisture.
  • Season just before cooking, even just salt and pepper can enhance the beefy flavor.
  • Use a well heated cast iron skillet.
  • Leave it alone – let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes so the crust develops. Flip it once and do the same for the other side.
  • If it’s not done you may finish it in the oven.
